Troops spent six days rounding up more of the insurgents. Two companies remained until the end of the month to discourage further unrest, while those arrested were transported to Milwaukee on the steamer Sunbeam under a guard detachment from another company of the 28th Wisconsin. The prisoners were encircled within a square formation and marched to the training site, Camp Washburn, and joined there by more of those arrested until the total imprisoned reached 130 people. The larger number of prisoners necessitated moving them to Camp Randall in nearby Madison.
